I recently attended a virtual presentation about social media in schools, sponsored by Campus Suite and provided by Jay Cooper (@jay4schools). There were a bunch of really neat ideas that I was able to get from the presentation about leveraging social media for my school. I wanted to share the one that I thought was the best.

Content Rule of Thirds

Split up the content that you are sharing on social media into thirds. One third of what you share should be each:

  • Sharing ideas
  • Promoting school events
  • Showcasing innovative content/teachers/students

As many schools are still just getting their feet wet in the world of social media, this simple rule, can serve as a starting roadmap for what to share. Leave your thoughts in the comments!
